Connor is 10 months

There is no way Connor will be ONE in 2 months, no way.  Some days I think I still have "a little baby" and then look at him and realize he is turning into a little boy before our eyes.  His 10th month was quite eventful.  Connor started crawling, pulling up on furniture and started eating a lot more different types of food.

Connor nurses or drinks a bottle of breast milk 5 times a day and eats food 3 times a day.  In addition to pureed fruits and veggies he is eating small pieces of chicken, turkey and whatever else we happen to be eating for dinner.  Even though he only has 3 teeth so far he does a great job "chewing" with his gums! Ha!

Anthony and I took a trip to Colorado over the 4th of July with some good friends (blog post to come) and Connor stayed with my parents, Grammy and Pops, for 5 days!  He had a great time and so did we!  I think 5 days was a little too long to be away from him for the first time but I knew he was in good hands.   I had pumped and frozen enough milk to give Connor while we were away and had to "pump and dump" while we were in Colorado.   While at summer camp Connor started moving himself from his tummy to sitting up independently!

Over the next few weeks he started army crawling and pulling up on furniture and now that is all he wants to do!  He moves around his room and playroom with purpose and finds every non-baby friendly item in each room!  He is intrigued by things that are not toys such as the computer cords, remote controls and my cell phone.  He gets so frustrated when I scoop him up right before grabs the off limit item!  He loves playing with a toy for a few minutes then waves it around before handing it to me and saying something very profound (I'm sure) in baby talk and then moves on to the next toy.  He also is loving Maddie more and more.  He loves to crawl toward her and sometime on her and really loves to pull her hair.  Maddie is quite tolerate of Connor but usually keeps her distance, which is what we have trained her to do since he was a newborn.  She loves to watch him play across the room and always sits below his high chair waiting for treats.

Anthony keeps wanting to plan Connor's 1st birthday but I just can't accept that fact that he will be ONE in 2 months so I am putting off any party planning.  Wasn't I just pregnant a few months ago?

Here are the latest pictures of our little man.

our visit to Mcgillacuddy Hills

In June we went to visit my Uncle Mike and Aunt Karla in Sand Springs, OK.  They have a little farm with chickens, goats, donkeys, dogs and an amazing vegetable garden!  Connor loved everything thing about the farm including the goats!!  Aunt Karla made us a delicious brunch using her chickens eggs, goat milk ice cream and fresh produce from her garden!  We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer!

9 Months!

Connor is 9 months old.  Crazy!  He is getting so big and becoming a little boy.  Everyday he seems a little bit older and discovers new things.  I will never get tired of watching him explore the world and watch his cute little face light up at every new discovery.

At his 9 month appointment Connor weighed in at 23 pounds 4 ounces (85%) and was 28 3/4 inches long (70%).  His weight gain has slowed down (thankfully!!) and he continues to get longer.   He drinks breast milk 5 times a day (nurses at home and takes a bottle at the babysitters) and eats fruits or veggies 2-3 times a day and seems to really like everything he has eaten! No picky eater here!

Connor continues to use rolling as his main mode of transportation but has started to scoot of his tummy across the floor and he absolutely loves standing (with assistance).  He would play standing at the coffee table all day if I would let him.  He is too wobbly to stand there alone and not strong enough to hold up all 23+ pounds of himself!

I turned the big 3-0 this month and spent a relaxing weekend with my family in Dallas to celebrate.  We also went to Oklahoma for Anthony's brother's wedding.  We had a nice time visiting with family and friends.  The day after the wedding we went to my Aunt Karla and Unlce Mike's farm in Sand Springs.  I'll do another post with pictures from that adventure!

8 months!

WHEW!  This was a busy month!  Connor is 8 months old and I am loving every minute of being a mom.  He has really changed me for the better and I am looking forward to all the adventures we will have as a family.  Connor's personality has started to emerge.  He is independent, easy going (like his daddy) and seems to have a good sense of humor.  I can always get a big, loud laugh when he is tickled and he even laughs at my horrible dancing.  I think he knows that it is horrible but he likes it anyways.
Connor plays really, really well.  Whether it is at daycare with other kids or all by himself he stays busy playing for long periods of time.  He has started playing with a few new toys that make noises or play songs and he LOVES them!  I love watching his face light up when he makes a song play.  We go to the park up the street a few times a week and he likes to swing and play on a blanket on the grass.
Our babysitter took a couple weeks off so I have been able to be at home with him more the past two weeks and have really enjoyed our time together.  My mom came to watch him for a couple days while I worked and they had a blast!  Trips to Target, HEB and the park kept them both busy!
I took Connor to Tallahasse, FL to attend my cousin Emmy's wedding.  It was a beautiful wedding and  Emmy and Ryan are two of the cutest lovebirds I have ever seen!  We got to spend time with a lot of my huge family and everyone got to love on the little guy.  He once again did great flying, even with a layover and a last minute re-routing of flights due to weather delays. In other BIG news this month, Anthony finished a IRONMAN triathlon.  He swam 2.4 miles, rode 112 miles and ran 26.2 miles.  I am so proud of him and all the hard work he put into training to properly prepare for the race.  It was a blistering 90 degrees out during the run but it didn't stop our ironman, he finished with a great time and in good spirits!  He has come quite a ways from open-heart surgery and barely being able to walk 1/2 a mile to an Ironman in 14 months.  Connor is lucky to have such a great role model as a father.  Anthony also started a new job this month which he really enjoys.  He is a landman for small oil and gas company in Houston.

SEVEN months!!!

Connor is seven months old.  I. CAN. NOT. BELIEVE. IT.  How in the world is he growing up so fast?  Although I would really like him to stay a baby forever I am truly enjoying watching him grow and discover the world.  Anthony and I often talk about how neat it is to just watch Connor look at things.  Everything is new to him and he is mesmerised by the smallest things.

He is sitting up on his own and LOVES playing with toys.  He really likes balls but gets a little frustrated when they roll away from him or roll out of his hands.... darn those fine motor skills.  My little roly poly can cover the room pretty quick rolling all around.  I was thinking that he might start crawling soon but now I'm not so sure.  His legs and belly are quite large and I think it will be another couple months before he can move that body :)

This month we began feeding him fruits and veggies.  He has eaten: sweet potatoes, apples, pears, avacados, bananas, and mangos.  I have made all the baby food so far and it really was easy!

Connor has TWO teeth and loves to bite and chew toys.   He doesn't like to show them off so I haven't been able to get a good picture of them.

We had a very busy month.  Anthony raced in a half ironman triathlon in Galveston so we made a weekend trip out of the race and spent a few days down there.  We took Connor swimming for the first time and he got to cheer his dad on in the race.  I took Connor on his first plane ride a few weeks ago. We went to Oklahoma City for a baby shower and to visit family and friends.  I was nervous to fly alone with him but he did great on the flight and only fussed a little when his ears popped.  The best advise I can give to others is to PACK LIGHT on the plane.  I only brought the necessities and it was a breeze through security and on/off the plane.

Here are some pictures from his 7th month!
