8 months!

WHEW!  This was a busy month!  Connor is 8 months old and I am loving every minute of being a mom.  He has really changed me for the better and I am looking forward to all the adventures we will have as a family.  Connor's personality has started to emerge.  He is independent, easy going (like his daddy) and seems to have a good sense of humor.  I can always get a big, loud laugh when he is tickled and he even laughs at my horrible dancing.  I think he knows that it is horrible but he likes it anyways.
Connor plays really, really well.  Whether it is at daycare with other kids or all by himself he stays busy playing for long periods of time.  He has started playing with a few new toys that make noises or play songs and he LOVES them!  I love watching his face light up when he makes a song play.  We go to the park up the street a few times a week and he likes to swing and play on a blanket on the grass.
Our babysitter took a couple weeks off so I have been able to be at home with him more the past two weeks and have really enjoyed our time together.  My mom came to watch him for a couple days while I worked and they had a blast!  Trips to Target, HEB and the park kept them both busy!
I took Connor to Tallahasse, FL to attend my cousin Emmy's wedding.  It was a beautiful wedding and  Emmy and Ryan are two of the cutest lovebirds I have ever seen!  We got to spend time with a lot of my huge family and everyone got to love on the little guy.  He once again did great flying, even with a layover and a last minute re-routing of flights due to weather delays. In other BIG news this month, Anthony finished a IRONMAN triathlon.  He swam 2.4 miles, rode 112 miles and ran 26.2 miles.  I am so proud of him and all the hard work he put into training to properly prepare for the race.  It was a blistering 90 degrees out during the run but it didn't stop our ironman, he finished with a great time and in good spirits!  He has come quite a ways from open-heart surgery and barely being able to walk 1/2 a mile to an Ironman in 14 months.  Connor is lucky to have such a great role model as a father.  Anthony also started a new job this month which he really enjoys.  He is a landman for small oil and gas company in Houston.
Here are a few pics from Connor's 8 month photo shoot!

SEVEN months!!!

Connor is seven months old.  I. CAN. NOT. BELIEVE. IT.  How in the world is he growing up so fast?  Although I would really like him to stay a baby forever I am truly enjoying watching him grow and discover the world.  Anthony and I often talk about how neat it is to just watch Connor look at things.  Everything is new to him and he is mesmerised by the smallest things.

He is sitting up on his own and LOVES playing with toys.  He really likes balls but gets a little frustrated when they roll away from him or roll out of his hands.... darn those fine motor skills.  My little roly poly can cover the room pretty quick rolling all around.  I was thinking that he might start crawling soon but now I'm not so sure.  His legs and belly are quite large and I think it will be another couple months before he can move that body :)

This month we began feeding him fruits and veggies.  He has eaten: sweet potatoes, apples, pears, avacados, bananas, and mangos.  I have made all the baby food so far and it really was easy!

Connor has TWO teeth and loves to bite and chew toys.   He doesn't like to show them off so I haven't been able to get a good picture of them.

We had a very busy month.  Anthony raced in a half ironman triathlon in Galveston so we made a weekend trip out of the race and spent a few days down there.  We took Connor swimming for the first time and he got to cheer his dad on in the race.  I took Connor on his first plane ride a few weeks ago. We went to Oklahoma City for a baby shower and to visit family and friends.  I was nervous to fly alone with him but he did great on the flight and only fussed a little when his ears popped.  The best advise I can give to others is to PACK LIGHT on the plane.  I only brought the necessities and it was a breeze through security and on/off the plane.

Here are some pictures from his 7th month!

Blue Bonnets!!!

6 months!

It's hard to believe that half a year has passed since our biggest blessing entered our lives.  Connor keeps us on our toes and makes every day a joy.  This month was a fun and busy month for us and Connor.  He got to meet his Great Grandma Connor and spend a whole weekend with her.  Anthony and I ran a half marathon together and we took a trip to Austin with my family for Easter.

At Connor's 6 month appointment he continued to rock the scales when he weighed in at 21 pounds 7 ounces (97%) and was 26 inches long (50%).  He is becoming more and more mobile.  He scoots and rolls around a lot!  I will lay him down on a blanket and turn my head for a minute and he will somehow have traveled a few feet.  They days of him staying put are long gone!  He also started sucking his thumb and he loves, loves, loves that thumb!  During his 6th month we fed him rice cereal a few days a week and when he ate it he loved it but somedays he just wasn't interested.  Connor still LOVES baths and playing with his toys.  He truly is a happy, happy baby and I can't imagine life without him.  Happy half birthday Connor!

5 months!

Connor is now 5 months old!  Wow, how time flys!  Just a year ago he was a tiny little peanut in my belly and Anthony was having his open-heart surgery!  Now Connor is a fat, little man and Anthony is training for an Ironman.  I do know that Connor is not little but he is my "little man" and he is fat... so he is my fat, little man!  While we are on the topic, I absolutely LOVE baby fat (on him, not me).  Is there anything cuter than rolls and rolls of baby fat?  I am so thankful to have a healthy, growing baby boy but he is just growing too fast!!  He wears mostly 9-12 month clothes and a few 6 month items that are not quite skin tight yet that I just can't seem to pack away.  I keep telling myself that this has to slow down soon or we will be in 2T clothes at his 1st birthday and that is just wrong.  Either way, I still can't believe that he is ours and we are so so so so blessed to be his parents.

Connor is now rolling over from his belly to his back and seems to be quite coordinated despite his size!  He still LOVES his hands and plays with them all day long!  This is partially due to the tiny little tooth and is peeking out of his bottom gums!  It doesn't seem to bother him but it does cause a lot of drool!  He likes to play on both his tummy and back as well as in his exersaucer.  He reaches for toys in front of him and usually tries to put them in his mouth.  He is quite the chatterbox, especially in the morning. I like to think he is telling me all about his dreams from the night.  If you smile at him you are almost guaranteed to get a smile in return, that is, unless you are holding a camera/ phone and you will only get a blank stare!  He is already a little ticklish and will squirm and squeal if tickled under the arms.  The best part of my day is to laugh at him and get a laugh in return!

We started feeding him rice cereal in the evenings and he has grown to like it.  At first he didn't know what to do with the food in his mouth and usually just spit it out but now he can down a whole bowl in 5 minutes!  I think we will start some veggies in the next few weeks.

Connor is still a great sleeper.  He goes down around 8pm and usually wakes around 5 or 6am to eat and then goes back to sleep until 7:30 or so.  He has a pretty good routine of naps and feedings during the day but is pretty flexible if we are out and about running errands.

Connor is such a joy and we are so in love with him!  Here are a few pictures from this month!
